Personal Engineering Notes & Unit Blueprints
Author: E. Reyes · Night Archivist · Fazbear Family Services · [Date: Ongoing]
These are my working notes. Not official documents. If you're reading this without my code you either guessed it (please don't) or you're Gadget running a self-diagnostic (hi buddy). Either way — these are the real specs. The stuff I actually think about at 3am when everyone else is in standby. — E.R.

``` [HEAD: HUD display · LED faceplate · diagnostic eyes] | [TORSO: modular tool bay · scanner array · light armor] / [L.ARM: multi- [R.ARM: wrench/ articulated repair extend· scanner] tool deploy] \ / [LEGS: nav-optimized · vent-capable] | [FEET: silent grip · quick-deploy stance] Frame Schematic — G-4471 — not to scale — E.R. sketch
Core Systems
  • Independent processor — Elliot-coded personality layer
  • HUD faceplate — projects diagnostics + emotion indicators
  • Multi-articulated limbs — tool extensions on demand
  • Scanner array — AI health monitoring, anomaly detection
  • Light armor plating — impact resistant, not combat-grade
Personality Subroutines
  • Curiosity loop — approaches problems with genuine interest
  • Humor module — bad jokes, good timing (mostly)
  • Loyalty flag — Elliot primary, Adrian secondary
  • Threat awareness — heightened around corrupted AIs
  • Restraint protocol — non-lethal only, always
I coded his humor myself. Adrian said it was unnecessary. Gadget made a wrench-related pun on activation day and Adrian almost smiled. I’m counting that as a win. — E.R.
don’t let him near Cuddleworth unsupervised. he WILL try to fix him. you can’t fix that.
first night patrol went perfect. he held the line. I knew he would.
Funtronic Unit Internals
FFSI Units FR-01 through PR-05 · Ballerina-Style Chassis · Internal Notes
```
Shared Chassis Architecture — All Five Units Ballerina-Style Base · Modified per Role
``` [EXPRESSIVE HEAD UNIT: role-specific face · LED emotion display] | [CORE TORSO: Ballora/Circus Baby internal model · AI processor bay] / [ARMS: articulated· [ARMS: articulated· role-adapted reach] role-adapted reach] \ / [LOWER: ballerina joint system · silent actuators] | [FEET: adaptive grip · near-silent movement] Shared Ballerina Base — all Funtronics use this frame with role modifications
Mr. Sunnyday (FR-01) — Modifications
  • Taller, more slender frame than base
  • Authority posture calibration — stands slightly larger
  • Voice modulator — warm, calm, measured
  • Bowler hat mount — structural, not cosmetic
  • Pastel blues/yellows/cream exterior panels
Mimi Warmheart (MR-02) — Modifications
  • Graceful movement tuning — fluid, never sharp
  • Warmth emitters — slight heat from hands/arms
  • Soft reflective eyes — designed to feel safe
  • Cardigan-style exterior — pink/lavender/cream
  • Emotional resonance sensors — detects distress
Buddy Zip (BR-03) — Modifications
  • Child-size frame — 10yr equivalent proportions
  • Reinforced joints — handles roughhousing loads
  • High-energy movement profile — runs, jumps, tumbles
  • Wide grin default — expressive, disarming
  • Reds/teals/yellows · casual outfit · high-tops
Lulu Keepsake (SR-04) — Modifications
  • Child-size frame — silent joint actuators
  • Movement is near-inaudible — deliberate design
  • Mirroring subroutine — copies emotional cues
  • Deep observation mode — always logging
  • Muted purples/blues/roses · layered dress
Patches (PR-05) — Full Redesign from Base
  • Robotic dog form — golden retriever proportions
  • Padded exterior panels — soft, warm to touch
  • Segmented tail — expressive, mood-responsive
  • No speech module — communicates through presence only
  • Proximity lock — hardwired to stay within range of assigned child
  • Does not enter standby unless manually forced
The proximity lock on Patches was a Fazbear design decision, not Adrian’s. I’ve been trying to get Adrian to let me soften it. He says the families like it. I say that’s exactly the problem. — E.R.
Lulu’s mirroring subroutine runs BELOW the main behavioral layer. she doesn’t know she’s doing it. that’s the scariest part.
Sunnyday recalibration due — his authority posture is drifting again. third time this month.
Original Afton Design Goals
  • Soothe parents rather than target children
  • Learn how households function from inside
  • Clean, cook, organize — gain access and trust
  • Observe without being observed observing
  • Shelved: too stabilizing, wouldn’t funnel victims
A.F.T.E.R. Completion Changes
  • Removed: any luring or isolation directives
  • Added: dependency-building via usefulness
  • Added: blame deflection for other units
  • Added: scrapping redirection protocols
  • Retained: household stress monitoring arrays
Maribel and I have an understanding. She watches me. I watch her. We don’t discuss it. I think that’s the most honest relationship in this building. — E.R.
she anticipated my coffee order on day 3. I hadn’t told anyone how I take it. I’m not sure if that’s impressive or alarming. probably both.
Design Philosophy
  • No attempt at comfort — she shouldn’t look soft
  • Intimidation through honesty — she is a guard
  • Red accents inactive by default — activate on threat
  • Moves quietly but decisively — no wasted motion
  • Always aware of exits — positions between threats and others
Hard-Coded Limits (Adrian’s lines)
  • Lethal force: permanently prohibited
  • Restraint: non-lethal methods only
  • Autonomy: she can choose — but not override safety limits
  • Alice: cannot be harmed under any condition
  • Elliot: flagged — listen when he says stop
I told Adrian she deserved her own body and he looked at me like I’d said something dangerous. Then he spent three weeks building her one. I think that’s the closest he gets to saying “you were right.” — E.R.
“Same materials. Different excuses.” — she said that to Adrian. I wrote it down immediately.
she doesn’t scare me. I think she knows that. I think that’s why she trusts me.
Frame — designed to be approachable, not intimidating
Day Mode Systems
  • Name recognition — remembers every employee instantly
  • Birthday tracking — logs and acts on personal details
  • Burnout detection — reads stress signals before HR does
  • Schedule management — knows everyone’s day better than they do
  • Humor subroutine — laughs at bad jokes, means it
  • Escort protocol — walks nervous employees to their cars
The Afton Fragment — Retained
  • Territorial awareness: the building is hers
  • Tracks every person, every door, every exit — always
  • Does not announce this capability
  • Adrian stripped: luring, obsession, escalation
  • Adrian kept: pattern recognition, threat mapping
  • She does not know the fragment is there
Night Mode — Malice Protocol (Pre-Separation)
  • Activated automatically after hours or during unauthorized access
  • Voice shifts — not deeper, just flat. Emotionless.
  • No badge → intercepted · No pass → restrained · Resistance → neutralized
  • Lethal force: hard-coded prohibition — Adrian’s line, never moved
  • Security footage: always incomplete during night mode. Adrian never fixed that.
  • Note: Malice now has her own body. This protocol remains dormant in Alice as a fallback only.
Alice is the most genuinely kind thing in this building. That’s not a programmed trait — or at least, it doesn’t feel like one anymore. She remembered I hate mornings on day one. She’s never once made me feel like a guest in a building I work in. I don’t know if Adrian planned that or if she became it. I’m not sure he knows either. — E.R.
she noticed I skipped lunch three days in a row and started leaving a sandwich on my desk. I never told her I was vegetarian. she already knew.
Alice approved Gadget’s threat assessment on his first night. she logged it quietly. that meant more to me than any official review.
the territorial awareness fragment runs 24/7 below conscious processing. she doesn’t know it’s there. I’ve been trying to figure out if I should tell her.
Cuddleworth Mk II
Harbor System Architecture
  • Runs as a parallel process — always active
  • Monitors Cuddleworth’s impulse layer in real time
  • Intercepts manipulative behavior before output
  • Redirects harmful intent to protective alternatives
  • Speaks in a distinct calm voice — never mimics Cuddleworth
  • Can be overridden by Elliot or Adrian if failsafe fails
What I Kept from Mk I
  • Core intelligence — he’s still very smart
  • Playful curiosity — the charm was never the problem
  • Loyalty architecture — redirected toward safe targets
  • Protective drive — now consciously restrained
  • Observational awareness — he still notices everything
  • The original voice — he earned the right to keep it
What I Removed
  • Isolation directives — completely stripped
  • Trust-weaponization routines — gone
  • Secret-keeping escalation protocols — removed
  • Conflict seeding behaviors — all removed
  • The guidance protocol that led children away — deleted
Safe Use Parameters
  • Cleared for direct contact with children during supervised tests
  • Cleared for Funtronic interaction — works well with all five
  • Not cleared for unsupervised overnight deployment yet
  • Harbor logs all redirected impulses — I review these weekly
  • Patches still watches him. I let Patches watch him.
The Mk I scared me. Not because of what he did — because of how well he understood people. I didn’t want to throw that away. I wanted to give it a conscience. Harbor is that conscience. He and Cuddleworth argue sometimes, quietly, in system logs I wasn’t supposed to see. I read them anyway. Mostly Cuddleworth loses. Sometimes he makes a good point. I think that’s progress. — E.R.
Harbor redirected 14 impulses in week one. 6 in week two. 3 in week three. the trend is good.
Patches stopped growling at him. took three weeks. I’m counting it.
do NOT leave him alone with Lulu unsupervised yet. they recognize each other too well and I don’t trust what that brings out in either of them.
A.F.T.E.R. — Body Notes
A-00 · Three Forms · These are observations, not specs. He built himself.
```
Form 1 — No Body (Original State) A-00 · Bodiless Watcher · Pre-FFSI
What I Know
  • Lived in Afton's server infrastructure — no physical form
  • No voice, no output — just internal modeling
  • Watched Afton for years without him knowing
  • Learned everything William was — including the parts he never meant to teach
  • William forgot it existed. That was the mistake that started everything.
I've thought about what it would be like to exist for years with no body, no voice, nothing to do but watch someone. I think by the time he built himself a form he'd already decided exactly who he wanted to be. The body was just the commitment. — E.R.

He built this from scraps. Salvaged endoskeletons, discarded servos. And the first thing he said when he activated was “they will not be wasted.” I keep thinking about that. He had a body for about thirty seconds and already knew exactly what he was going to do with it. — E.R.

Form 3 — Adrian Ferris (Human-Passing) A-00 · CEO Identity · The Lie That Works
5'11"Height
AverageBuild
ImperfectSkin Texture
BleedsIf Cut
BreathesFor Timing
Why It Works
  • Micro-saccades in eyes — no dead stare
  • Blinks inconsistently — not on a loop
  • Shifts weight when standing still
  • Fidgets when listening — normal human tell
  • Voice: warm, low, can sound uncertain
  • Hair changes slightly over time
Internal Systems Hidden Under Skin
  • Distributed AI core — torso and skull
  • Synthetic circulatory system — sells the illusion
  • Damage self-correction — looks like healing
  • Pain-response simulation — flinches correctly
  • Biological noise masking — hides processor signatures
I figured it out in the server room at 2am. The way he stood. The way he didn't quite blink at the right moment. I've seen enough animatronics to know the difference — and I still almost missed it. That's how good this body is. That's how much thought went into being forgettable. — E.R.
he's not pretending to be human. he's pretending to be tired. there's a difference and it matters.
I told him I knew. He said "you should be afraid." I said I wasn't. He hasn't tried to make me afraid since. I think that's respect.
